Combat Stress and Cravings with Ear Massage

Acupressure is an ancient Chinese healing method that involves putting pressure with the fingers or the hand on certain points of the body. The pressure can unblock the flow of Qi to release tension and restore inner harmony. The great thing about acupressure is it is something you can do on your own to promote health, relieve stress and prevent disease.

Your ear lobes are energetically linked to your brain. When you massage the right ear lobe it stimulates the left brain and pituitary gland. When you massage the left ear lobe, it stimulates the right brain and pineal gland, giving you a whole brain experience.

Ear massage triggers the release of the body’s natural painkillers, endorphins. Studies have demonstrated that Ear massage increases levels of endorphins in both the blood and cerebrospinal fluid

The ear contains more than two hundred pressure points that influence different areas of the body and the psyche.

Based on the belief that a microcosm of the human body exists in the ear, Ear Massage is an extremely relaxing and effective therapy aimed at decreasing cravings, reducing stress, promoting well being and addressing various health issues.

Our body has certain anti-stress points and all that needs to be done is simply massage these points to relieve the stress.

The ancient Chinese referred to this point as Shen Men or “The Gate of Heaven.” Shen Men is a anti-stress point that decreases stress, boosts energy flow, and strengthens the overall health of the body.

This acupressure point also reduces inflammation and can relieve pain in almost every part of the body. It is located in the centre of the upper third of the ear.

Ear acupuncture is used throughout the world to assist in the detoxification of addictive substances, manage pain and calm anxiety.

Here is a great ear massage that you can do for yourself or your loved ones:

1. Rub in small circular motions with your thumbs inside the widest upper part inside the ears, holding them from outside with the index and middle fingers.

2. Use your index finger to massage inside the smaller crevices if your thumbs don't fit and along the front of your ear where it attaches to the head.

3. Massage the earlobes by gently pulling them down and making circles with your thumb and index finger.

You can also massage corresponding point on your wrist for better results.

To enhance these acupressure and reflexology for anxiety techniques, it is highly recommended that you also do breathing exercises every day. Slow, deep breathing plus acupressure and reflexology combine to form a highly effective self therapy for emotional stress, tension, anxiety and nervousness.

Another great point for stress is Kidney reflexology point (K 1).

Paleo Chicken Sausage and Goat Cheese Bread

This weekend I made chicken sausage and goat cheese bread. It came out great tasting and packed with nutrients, iron and protein.

This Paleo bread is very filling and perfect for anyone looking for grain free bread alternative that's easy to digest.

This bread is perfect addition to any grain-free, gluten free life style. I hope you make it and enjoy it as much as I did!

Chicken Sausage and Goat Cheese Bread recipe (makes 1 loaf)

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups of Almond Flour
2 1/2 cups of Tapioca flour
2 tbsp Organic Raw Coconut Oil
1 to 2 organic eggs

1/2 cup lukewarm water or less if using 2 eggs(note: The sugar, yeast, eggs, oil and water when mixed together should not exceed 1 cup in total)

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

Cut chicken sausages in small pieces and saute (if you get fully cooked, you can skip this step), add garlic and cook until done. Remove from frying pan and let it coll down.

Combine water with sugar and oil. Add the yeast and let sit a minute.

Whisk in the egg

Add flour mix and sea salt and goat cheese.

Mix everything in food processor if you have one or by hand. For best results, let it sit for an hour.

Grease a cookie sheet or bread pan with coconut oil.

Bake for about 35 minutes (don't over bake, check bread after 25 min)

The top should be golden brown and a toothpick should come clean. You can cover it with aluminum so top doesn't get too brown.

Remove from the oven, then let cool for 15-20 minutes.

Wrap it tightly and store in the fridge for 1 week. I actually think this bread gets better as the days go on.
